„You must be a clown, not just play a clown“

„Momo was the star of the Christmas Circus“

Headline from the „Mittelbayerische Zeitung“ on 08.01.2019 / Follow-up report on the Regensburg Christmas Circus 2018/19.

„With his performance full of poetry and aesthetics, the little grandmaster of high variety art was a highlight of the show“

Quote from the Weser Kurier on 07.10.2024 / Follow-up report „Gala der goldenen Glocke“ in Verden.

„Momo is one of the greatest – hats off for two entertaining hours of carefree laughter“

Quote from the AZ in Uelzen on 12.02.2024 / Follow-up report of the solo show at the Schauspielhaus Uelzen.

„… Then, suddenly, a tense expectation filled the air: Timo Lesniewski, alias Monsieur Momo from Nienburg, stepped onto the stage. The audience immediately sensed that they were about to witness a special variety artist: a master who uniquely combines poetry, aesthetics, and humorous entertainment. Almost without words, but with even greater expressiveness, he captivated the audience. Every movement was precisely staged, every moment perfectly timed, even walking on wine bottles. With an elegant mix of visual magic, acrobatic finesse, and mime skill, he transported the audience into a world full of surprises. Loud exclamations of „Oh!“ and „Ah!“ echoed through the hall as Monsieur Momo effortlessly balanced between subtle humor and touching poetry. His performance was a masterfully staged interplay between awe and hearty laughter. After this breathtaking performance by Monsieur Momo, Hendrik Steinbach once again took over the moderation…“

Follow-up report in the Westfälische Nachrichten from Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

„But one very special artist made yesterday’s show a class act. The clown and comedian Monsieur Momo had us laughing all evening. With his facial expressions and gestures, he reminded us of the great clowns of the past.“

Follow-up report of the Wintergarten show „Golden Years“ by Mein Event-Tipp / 11.10.2020.

„Simply magic! Monsieur Momo conquers the hearts of the audience in no time with his circus-like clowning: with innocent, big eyes, Momo looks astonished at the audience and brings many spectators to smile with a true charm offensive as he steps onto the stage. Later, he even elicits premature giggles in anticipation of the next ‚trick’—all of which are characterized by Momo’s ability to chuckle at himself. There, handkerchiefs disappear quite obviously, and the balloon dog impresses not with artistic finesse, but rather makes ‚room‘ in a literal sense. Participating here seems not to be a tedious obligation for the audience, but rather pure joy in the hall: for instance, when small and large suitcases are supposed to make sounds at Momo’s command. A pantomime performance for the heart, full of humor and poetry. Just as he himself comments multiple times, magic.”

Post-report Tuttlinger Krähe 2025 written by Kornelia Hörburger

„The surprise of the evening was undoubtedly Monsieur Momo – and that quite literally. With his minimalist show, reminiscent of a very good clown act from the circus, he delighted the audience. His obvious ‚magic tricks,‘ which everyone immediately sees through, and the constantly repeated word ‚Magic‘ were so hilarious that the audience could hardly stay in their seats. And what must never be missing in such an act? Of course, the perfect exit from the stage with confetti and a ‚Magic.‘

Quote from the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung on 07.02.2018, follow-up report on NachtSchnittchen Hattingen / Article author: Lena Zaubzer.

„It was truly a magnificent performance. Smiles all around, this was entertainment at its finest. Timo, special thanks to you for your extraordinary performance, which I would describe as: subtle, very funny, never crude, surprising and intelligent, lovable and deserving, clownish but not silly, touching and truly skilled.“

Johannes Vogt-Krause, Neues Schauspielhaus Uelzen.

„Until the announcement of the audience vote, he had bravely waited in his costume. Monsieur Momo wore only knee-length pants, which didn’t cover his muscular calves. It must have gotten quite cold over the course of the evening. But the young, likable clown stayed in character from 7 PM to 11 PM. When Johannes Cernota, organizer of the 1st Osen Festival in Sandkrug, stepped onto the stage just before 11 PM to present the Bronze, Silver, and Golden Osens, Momo was still in the mood for jokes. Could Momo have suspected that, despite being the first of the three small artists to have the unenviable starting position number 1, he would end up winning?… Monsieur Momo, the clown, turned out to be a great poet on stage. As the only one, he completely avoided jokes, letting only his charming wit and situational comedy work in the festival tent. ‚Magic,‘ this one word was enough for him in his dialogue. His acts were indeed magical. A well-deserved winner…“

Quote from the Nordwest-Zeitung on 17.09.2017, follow-up report on the „Kleinkunstgala Osen.“

„Monsieur Momo was nominated for the finale of the small arts competition at the Osen Festival 2017 due to his consistently convincing, professionally designed performances. The three finalists were all wonderful and brought the audience to applause and cheers. But there could only be one who, chosen by the audience, would receive the Golden Osen: Monsieur Momo! A clown straight out of a storybook. Only this time, in real life!“

Johannes Cernota / Organizer of the Osen Festival.

„A young, fresh, and sensitive clown with an impressive stage presence and an excellent connection to the audience. The juggling with delicate scarves is perfectly staged and invites daydreams. Momo engages the audience, making them smile and laugh without overwhelming them.“

„… The clear crowd favorite of this program is Timo Lesniewski, alias Momo. The self-proclaimed clown with a heart truly lives up to his title, drawing compassionate ‚oooohhhss‘ from the audience. The 19-year-old from Nienburg knows how to win over the crowd with expertly timed facial expressions and the well-placed word ‚Magic‘ at just the right moment. He surprises, warms up, and engages the audience. With his clumsy gestures and non-verbal comedy, he captivates the spectators, even when he’s simply juggling two balls. It’s all wonderfully quirky, joyful, and eccentric…“

Quote from the Hildesheimer Allgemeine Zeitung on 15.12.2014, follow-up report on the „1st Emmerker Wintervarieté.“

„Momo engaged the audience and perfected his well-designed scenes with witty situational comedy and clever punchlines. He definitely proved that he has the talent to captivate with his art.“
